Prometheum Appoints David Hunt as Chief Operations Officer of Prometheum ATS
Former Securitize Markets CEO to Strengthen Prometheum’s Blockchain‑Integrated Secondary Markets Platform
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Prometheum Inc. today announced the appointment of David Hunt as Chief Operations Officer of its subsidiary, Prometheum ATS. Hunt oversees operations and trade compliance at Prometheum ATS, an SEC-registered and FINRA member alternative trading system for digital asset securities—securities issued and transferred on blockchain infrastructure.
Hunt brings over 25 years of experience leading operations and compliance in financial services, with recent emphasis on integrating blockchain technology into broker-dealer infrastructure. He has led strategic growth initiatives, driven product development, and architected compliance and operational frameworks for both early-stage ventures and established financial institutions.
“David brings the depth of experience needed to oversee and expand Prometheum ATS at a critical stage in our development,” said Aaron Kaplan, co-CEO of Prometheum Inc. “His leadership will be instrumental as Prometheum ATS shapes the future of how on-chain securities markets operate—integrating blockchain technology into regulated market infrastructure to deliver faster settlement, greater transparency, and broaden investors’ access to an expanding set of blockchain-native investment opportunities.”
Hunt has held senior leadership and C-suite roles across a range of firms including Securitize Markets, Circle Internet Financial, Allianz Global Investors, and IOI Capital and Markets. At Securitize, he served as CEO and Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing the broker-dealer’s product expansion and compliance programs. At Circle, he helped integrate the firm’s blockchain solutions into the SeedInvest broker-dealer business.
“Prometheum ATS stands at the intersection of traditional finance and blockchain innovation,” Hunt said. “I’m eager to help scale a platform that sets the standard for how regulated, on-chain securities are accessed and traded.”
Hunt currently serves on FINRA’s New York regional committee and holds multiple regulatory licenses, including Series 6, 7, 14, 24, 27, 79 and 99. He is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Albion College.
